Way!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">The 2010\u2019s are in the books, and it\u2019s time to start thinking about how we can make the next decade even more successful than the last one!<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A popular <a href=\"https:\/\/visme.co\/blog\/goal-setting-worksheet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">goal-setting<\/a> technique is to set <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toolshero.com\/personal-development\/smart-goals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SMART Goals<\/a>. What are S.M.A.R.T. goals? They are goals that are:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>S<\/b>pecific&#8211;goals should have clear objectives for you and your team to strive for.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>M<\/b>easurable&#8211;to gauge the success of your team, there should be qualitative metrics.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>A<\/b>chievable&#8211;goals need to be reasonable, or else they will seem too far-fetched to even be attempted.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>R<\/b>elevant&#8211;clear, reasonable, and measurable goals mean nothing if they don\u2019t serve to accomplish a specific business objective that will advance you, your team, and your organization.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>T<\/b>ime-bound&#8211;deadlines are crucial because they hold you and your team accountable, and give you a chance to set new goals based on performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">For example, let\u2019s apply this mindset to a social media marketing team:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Specific<\/b>: <i>\u201cLet\u2019s increase our impressions on social media this month,\u201d and not, \u201cwe need to be better at social media.\u201d <\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Measurable<\/b>:<i> \u201cWe want to increase the number of impressions that we get by 5-10% each month.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Achievable<\/b>: <i>\u201cWe usually get 10,000 impressions a month, so let\u2019s try to hit 11,000 this month,\u201d rather than \u201cWe usually get 10,000 impressions, but the biggest competitors in the industry average 2.5 million, so let\u2019s do that!\u201d <\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Relevant<\/b>: <i>\u201cOur organization\u2019s top goal is increasing sales of product A, so let\u2019s make sure that our posts are highlighting product A.\u201d<br \/>\n<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Time-Bound<\/b>: <i>\u201cLet\u2019s try to steadily increase impressions by 5-10% for the next three months and then see if that goal is too ambitious, or if we can try for even more than that in the next quarter.\u201d <\/i><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6083\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.kdan.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/kdan-team-set-goals.jpg?resize=840%2C630&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"kdan team set goals\" width=\"840\" height=\"630\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><b>How does the Kdan Team set S.M.A.R.T. Goals? <\/b><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Kdan Team believes that being the most productive version of yourself starts with setting the right kind of goals. We went around our office and asked some of our different managers how they set S.M.A.R.T. goals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Emily Lin, one of our Global Marketing Managers, puts a lot of emphasis on setting the most important goals:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI select my team\u2019s goals based on purpose and priority,\u201d she explains. \u201cThis gives me a better idea of what\u2019s really important to get done within a certain period of time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Our other Global Marketing Manager, Frank Lin, builds on Emily\u2019s point, and suggests that one of the ways they determine which goals are most important is by placing value on different metrics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWe look at all of the different metrics that we track, but certain ones have shown to be more important than others,\u201d he adds. \u201cIf our main objective is to increase traffic, and we know which channels usually generate more page views, then we\u2019ll prioritize the goals we set that utilize those channels.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">I-Hsiu Tseng, Kdan\u2019s Data Analytics Manager, and her data team place a lot of importance on setting relevant goals. Since their job is performing analysis on large amounts of data, she and her team make sure to evaluate which projects are most helpful.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWe tend to spend most of our time deciding why (or if) we need to achieve these goals,\u201d she explains. \u201cOnce we understand what the most important projects are, we\u2019ll encourage each other to accomplish these tasks in the most efficient way possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Finally, Albert Chang, the Business Development Director at Kdan, likes to work with his team to set achievable short-term goals that work towards our organizational objectives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cSo we always start from the big picture&#8211;the grand prize.
